Google Confirms Ongoing Issue With Its Search Index
Google says it has identified the issue with indexing and is working on fixing it. It seems that the improvement is now underway as new content is getting indexed. Yesterday at 10:50 am, Google confirmed that there's an ongoing indexing issue affecting a large number of sites and the cause of the issue was unknown. They also stated that the Google will provide an update in next 12 hours.
Here are some details we know so far.
How many sites have been affected so far and to what extent?
Will it affect my search ranking?
Will my content eventually get indexed?
When will Google fix the problem?
Ongoing issue with Google's search index appears to be affecting new content only.
If you published new content within this problem, it probably wouldn't be indexed.
There have been several articles published on search engines, none of them have been indexed. Is it not known when the problem has started. Although we can narrow it down to the time the last content was indexed. It created a big pra the last day for the once who were suppose to publish new content. These indexing problems have appeared before affecting new materials, and history shows that they do not extend to existing material.
To be sure this issue is related to indexing not ranking. This bug will not harm Google search rankings for the existing material. Google does not guarantee to index all content even at the time of smooth functioning. So it's not possible to say that the content published will eventually get indexed. It takes 24 hours for Google indexing bugs to fix. However the time span my differ as Google does not provide estimates .
